A glossy, evergreen holly with vibrant berries that can be grown well as a bush or single stemmed tree.
 
Description
This very robust holly is easy to grow as a bush or a single stemmed tree. Its emerald green leaves are glossy with the characteristic spines.  It is extremely fruitful and colourful when loaded with red berries in the autumn, providing both food and nesting habitat for birds.  As with most hollies, Nellie R Stevens is evergreen and has small greenish-white flowers that bloom each spring.
 
Planting Position
This holly is adaptable to all soil types although it needs to be well-drained as it cannot tolerate  waterlogged ground particularly well. It can grow in either semi-shade or no shade.
 
Attributes
Being evergreen, it is an ideal feature and screening tree for gardens as well as attracting birds and wildlife to feed or nest in its dense branches.
