Description
The self-fertile Blueberry 'Chandler' produces large, delicious, juicy fruits, ripening from the beginning of August to mid-September and can be over 2g in weight. The fruits are splendid in pies, muffins and jams and are bursting with high levels of antioxidants, making them a superfood. This attractive upright shrub is excellent for the patio and acidic borders and can reach up to 1.5m tall. The small leaves turn yellow to red in autumn, followed by masses of small, sweetly scented white flowers in spring.
Planting Position
Blueberries generally like full sun or partial shade. The soil needs to be moist but well-drained, and if the container grown, use ericaceous compost. We recommend watering regularly with rainwater as opposed to tap water. These plants require pruning in late February to early March after the first two years. Remember to cover your berries, or they'll be lost to the birds!
