Description
The Trewithen Blue is a magnificent, vigorous evergreen tree with dark green leaves and pyramid-shaped clusters of lightly fragrant rich blue flowers that are so profuse that they literally cover the bush from April to June. This tree makes an excellent all-rounder for the smaller garden due to its low maintenence and also suitable for container growing. The Californian lilac is very popular with bees and other pollinating insects due to the mass of flowers.
Planting Position
Ceanothus arboreus thrives in average, well-drained soils with a Alkaline and Neutral PH. For best results plant in a warm sheltered spot in full sun. It requires little or no water in summer and is drought tolerant.

Easy to grow, this fragrant evergreen is an excellent plant for sunny areas, ideal as a specimen plant, wall-side borders, hedges and screens.
