Description
If you're looking for a birch with a variety of colour, then this is the perfect choice with its distinctive rich burgundy leaves. As autumn arrives, the foliage of this ornamental tree turns to a spectacular fiery orange-red, making it a great focal point. In addition to the beautiful colour of the leaves, its unique bark changes colour as it matures. Starting off as a creamy white shade, then finally turning to cinnamon and brown.
Planting Position
A new introduction from the USA, this tree will be happy growing in the UK. As with all birches, despite being successful on most well-drained soils, if planted in chalk soils the birch will not reach a maximum size. It prefers to be planted in a full sun position. It is a very versatile tree that is both drought tolerant and wet tolerant.
Attributes
This handsome tree has to be one of the most interesting of all the Betulas with its leaves going from the summer purple through to oranges and yellows in autumn.

The delicate, shimmering burgundy leaves look lovely against my existing trees.
It seems to be thriving despite the hot weather with plenty of watering, and I can't wait to see how it grows over the years.
The tree has been planted in memory to my wonderful friend who has sadly passed. The empathy and kindness shown to me by the owners has been amazing and the knowledge and advice given has helped in my choice of tree. Thank you
Howard and thanks for the speedy delivery and planting advice .
Lovely young tree with gorgeously deep maroon leaves, very well and securely packed, delivered exactly where I wanted. Now tucked into the ground and I can't wait to see it grow. (( more info re why I chose this tree in my earlier review))
I am thrilled with my little Royal Frost birch tree. It came carefully packaged and in a big enough pot. I planted it within 36 hrs and it is doing well. It is healthy and a good size to start it off - not too small.
Thank you
