Treebio Biodegradable Spiral Guards are a new product in response to the growing desire to reduce the use of standard plastics. As with our other spiral guards, these Bio Spirals, are particularly suitable for young hedging whips, providing protection against rabbits, voles and other small animals as well as a protective barrier against spraying and strimming.
Bio Spiral Tree Guards are:
• Manufactured from 100% biodegradable materials
• Independently tested
• Two-stage degradation process
• Quick and easy to install
• Should last approximately 4 years
The material used in the manufacture of the TreeBio range has been tested at an independent laboratory to be classified as fully compostable. It has also gained the DIN CERTO certificate.
The TreeBio guard will be attacked initially by UV degradation to start the break up process. Biodegradable stabilisers are added to the material before the manufacturing process to stabilise the spiral sufficiently to withstand this UV degradation for 4 – 5 years in the place of use.
A bamboo cane is recommended to support each spiral guard. If the guards are being fitted to small trees up to around 80cm height then a bamboo cane will be required to keep the plant and guard upright. No tie is required, just push the cane down next to the tree inside the guard.
