Description
The Ginkgo biloba is one of the oldest living tree species in the world. This showy, medium-sized, deciduous tree gets its name from its fan-shaped, often bilobed, light green leaves. The leaves turn a stunning yellow during autumn, and the tree develops yellow fruits containing a single large seed.

Ginkgo biloba 'maidenhair tree' will have a pyramidal shape while young, becoming more irregular with age, growing to 10m/32ft tall and 4m/13ft wide (within 20 years), making this an excellent ornamental tree for a variety of landscapes.

 

Planting Position
The Ginkgo biloba will thrive in most soils, although it prefers well-drained, moist, moderately fertile soil in a full sun position.
