Description
Sunshine Blue was first introduced in 1979 and is the perfect dwarf blueberry for container growing and small gardens. It's beautiful clusters of pinkish-white bell-shaped flowers that appear in spring, alongside blue-greenish leaves make this a very appealing ornamental bush. The fruits are small but juicy, and have a delicious sweet and tangy flavour. Sunshine Blue produces a heavy crop and is classed as semi-evergreen.
Planting Position
Blueberries generally like full sun or partial shade. The soil needs to be moist but well-drained and if container growing, use ericaceous compost. We recommend watering reguarly with rainwater as opposed to tap water. These plants require pruning in late February to early March after the first two years. Remember to cover your berries or they'll be lost to the birds!
