Description
Victoria plum is a very well known and popular choice of plum tree. Its small white flowers give way to dark red fruit through August and September that are classed as culinary and dessert fruit. It is deciduous and bears green leaves that are simple and ovate. The tree is self fertile and can achieve a height range of 2m-4m with a similar spread, dependant on the root stock. Time to maximum height is 5-10 years.
Planting Position
This popular cultivar is suitable for most settings and produces a versatile crop. It has a bushy habit and while somewhat hardy still requires a sheltered sContainer with a south or west facing aspect in full sun. The Victoria prefers a neutral soil pH and grows well on all but clay soils.
Attributes
An attractive fruit tree with a stunning and delicate floral display and attracting a wide variety of pollinating insects. However, the main attribute for this tree is its versatile fruit.
